New Publication in 2012: Luxury Car - BMW M5 price, review, specifications, photos, engines, transmissions, suspensions, dimensions, performance, features, Interior and Exterior.
"2012 BMW M5" BMW arrived at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show with the confirmation of a 6-speed manual transmission on the North American version of the upcoming 2013 BMW M5. This new 6-speed manual will be a no-cost alternative to the 7-speed M-Double Clutch Transmission (M-DCT) and its ratios have been optimized for acceleration, flexibility, and fuel economy. The new transmission is mated to a short throw shift linkage topped with a black leather backlit shift knob.
2012 BMW M5 The BMW M5 engine, a lightly modified version of the 90-degree S63 unit used in the BMW X5 and the X6 M, kicks out a sturdy 552 hp between 5,750 rpm and 7,000 rpm. Despite the move to forced induction, the new M5 can’t quite top the Cadillac CTS-V’s supercharged 6.2-liter V8 and its 556 hp for outright firepower.
BMW M5 Revealed here in a series of official photographs, the super sedan will be shown in September at the Frankfurt motor show just ahead of its North American launch.
2012 BMW M5 The interior of the M5 will be slathered with the high-end leather that you expect and your caboose demands. Sport seats bend and contour in every imaginable direction, there’s “aluminum trace” interior trim, and the car packs every gadget the Bavarian company offers: a head-up display, active and adaptive headlights, lane-departure warning, and enough cameras to satisfy the Department of Homeland Security.
