2011 McLaren MP4-26 F1
Tuesday, May 17, 2011
McLaren's new car which will be held in the 2011 season Formula 1 competition was launched on Friday, February 4, 2011 in Berlin, Germany. The car, named the McLaren MP4-26 that still keep many puzzles associated with advanced technology. McLaren MP4-26 was designed with a shape that does not seem "arrogant". McLaren MP4-26 Nose flat course, does not look like RB7 profile, the new Red Bull Racing car.
McLaren MP4-26 Nose only seemed longer than the old model. Significant differences emerged only in the side air vents in the form of L so that the letter of the MP4-26 profiled U. "Please remember, you all have not seen the actual contents of this car. There are many interesting side of this car that has not been shown. We have deliberately concealed many aspects of this car from the media and of course the competitors," said Martin Withmarsh, McLaren boss.
“Formula 1 at its core is a sustainable development. We’re just going to do official tests next week. There will be some fantastic innovation that will be done after this, “added Withmarsh.
McLaren MP4-26 that was launched is indeed likely to be a mock-up, the car was not lauched in the circuit because the engine on a model that was launched is made of plastic. The car was also assembled in conjunction with the introduction to the public. McLaren’s new MP4-26 will progress to the second official test of Formula 1, which will be held February 10 to 13 in Jerez, Spain.

Peugeot RC HYmotion4 Concept Racing Car
Friday, November 19, 2010
With Citroen, Peugeot RC HYmotion4 is a field that is increasingly cluttered with hybrid concepts using a new system that can take the road to be unveiled at the Paris Motor Show. Fortunately for Peugeot, they have managed not just recycle or rebadge an existing model, but have incorporated this technology into an boldly attractive four door GT coupe.
Peugeot has joined sister-brand Citroen by releasing a concept vehicle based on the new HYmotion4 AWD hybrid system. The new concept is according to Peugeot, a ‘Touring Car Coupe’ that features a number of engineering and technological ideas expected to make their way, if only gradually, into both of the carmaker’s future production models. Unlike the hybrid systems used by current production vehicles, this concept has no direct mechanical connection between the electric and internal combustion drive systems. This way, the RC can operate in either rear, front, or all-wheel-drive modes. That means it can also operate using internal combustion, electric only or blended mode combining both. Propelling this concept is a rear mounted turbocharged 1.6 liter engine driving the rear wheels and producing 218 hp and 206 lb-ft of torque. Up front, an electric motor provides up to another 132 lb-ft of torque and provides a governed combined production of 313 horsepower. This sort of power pays of with acceleration to 62 mph in a mere 4.4 seconds. The electrons are stored in a lithium-ion battery pack of an as unreleased size, but having the electric motor at the front instead of the rear axle means that more kinetic energy can be recaptured through the regenerative braking process. According to Peugeot, the RC can get 52.3 mpg with a minimum output of just 109 g/km of CO2 emissions.
Other Hymotion4 concepts in the mix for the future include Peugeot’s Prologue, which previews an upcoming 3008 crossover, as well as the Citroen Hypnos and C4 WRC rally car. These concepts, according to the manufacturer, are a synthesis of ideas that demonstrate a commitment to both respecting the environment and driving pleasure. If all of the technology that is used within this concept lives up to the manufacturer claims, the French may have the inside track in future hybrid production.

Maserati Granturismo S Best Car
Wednesday, August 18, 2010
Women and men in sharp suits, because it shows the guy knows how to dress, and he is more inclined to take them to nice restaurants than sloppy food joints.
The Maserati Gran Turismo is a bit like a suit. The exquisite cut and tailored in a way that makes the wearer feel as secure as the latest Double O Seven makes in his Tom Ford.
The Gran Turismo S is basically the same stuff, just better. It not only makes the wearer look good, but also transforms him into an entirely new man, a sportsman himself.
The key to this increased flexibility is the engine. Displace 4.7 liters (versus 4.2 in the GT), GT S has much more grunt (40bhp and 30nm torque). Couple with the latest DueSelect gearbox, which is similar to Maserati's Ferrari F1 Superfast transmission, shifts are smooth and very, very quick with the changes taking only 100 milliseconds.
The front brake dics has been expanded and made use of a special "dual-cast" technology clamped by powerful six pot callipers. The suspension was also tuned to be a little more sporty than the 4.2 GT's.
Sum of all hardware is an entirely more intent machine comes to life at the touch of a button labeled Sport.
When activated, the transmission goes into quick shift mode and exhaust system releases. The shift mode and exhaust system releases. The smart smoking is now a smug race suit. The combination of beeps barreled motor sound with the anger firing on all gear is bound to have an effect on the driver.
Suddenly the drive home will be a lot more exciting. One is Daniel Craig running away from a pursuing Alfa Romeo in the tunnel, except unlike Aston Martin in the opening scene of the latest Bond film, Quantum Of Solace, the Maserati has its doors intact.
Also intact is the GT S's ambitions as a grand tourer. Measuring nearly 4.9m (longer than a BMW 5 series) with a corresponding long wheelbase, its ride quiet and serene.
Although twisty roads is not a problem, but prefer long sweeping corners, where power and size afford it plenty of pace and poise.
When Sport is deactivated, the engine calms down considerably (the deep V8 Rumble are still satisfyingly audible) and shifting morph from being a fast and angry that something that is much smoother, if not entirely smooth as in a conventional automatic transmission.
